The Structured Training Programme

for doctoral researchers in the degrees Dr. med., Dr. med. dent. & Dr. PH

The structured training programme is mandatory for all doctoral researchers at our faculty. We support your doctoral project with a variety of workshops and events tailored to your needs. Learn how to apply scientific methods and successfully structure and write down your results.

After completing the structured training programme you will receive a Confirmation of Completion which you need to hand in with your thesis.

Components of the Training Programme

This four-hour workshop is a mandatory component. Please book this workshop as soon as possible in order to be aware of your rights and duties as well as of scientific misconduct from the beginning of your project and to prevent problems.

You need to complete a total of 6 workshop days from the following areas:

  • 2 days of core competencies,
  • 2 days of key qualifications
  • 2 days from an area of your choice (core competencies, key qualifications or additional courses).

The area which the workshops belong to is indicated on the individual workshop pages.

External workshops can be recognized for the training programme in individual cases. Similarity to the training programme at medRSD as well as an evaluation are required. Internal workshops from institutes or clinics like seminars for doctoral researchers or Animal Testing courses will not be recoognized.

Another mandatory component in the structured training programme is an independent and active participation at a congress or similar event. This means that you present a poster or give a talk regarding your doctoral project in front of a professional audience or faculty members.

Doctoral researchers who do not have the possibility to visit an external congress can present their project results at the annual medRSD Symposium. Internal events at clinics or institutes will not be recognized.

Not sure about getting credits? Use our Congress Check and evaluate if your presentation will earn you credits.
